WITH 38 galleries (at last count) in the urbs prima indis, the art afficionado and the visitor has a hard time making up her mind about what to see/what not to see. The Parsees, who lived for centuries on the Gujarat coast before wending their way to Bombay in the 17th Century, are the focus of two exhibitions. The one in the Chemould (2844356), the little gallery on the first floor of the Jehangir is titled, "Family Portraits, Parsees at Home" an exhibition of evocative photographs by Dayanita Singh. Just concluded across the road at the NGMA (2852457) is "Portrait of a Community", an exhibition of paintings, photographs and artefacts on that microscopic minority.
