This has reference to Suresh Menon’s interview with Ved Mehta (“In the light of words”, August 5). It is heartening to note that Ved Mehta has just finished the 12th volume of his autobiographical series, “Continents of Exile”, recalling his days at Harvard. What is remarkable is that though Mehta lost his vision at the age of three, he went on to become one of the finest masters of English prose, thereby demonstrating courage and vision. At 73 he is going great guns. We look forward to savouring more and more gems of English prose from the celebrated writer.
