Learning to query, explore and create

The Samhita Academy, a co-educational school located off Bannerghatta Road, has adopted the philosophy of “imparting education for life” to its students. Co-founded by S.D. Shibulal, Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Infosys and his wife Kumari Shibulal, TSA believes in providing students the freedom to explore, question and create. The values of inclusivity, collaboration, social awareness, and personal excellence – as opposed to competition — are taught through a combination of innovative teaching tools.

The school commenced in 2009 and offers hostel facilities to children from economically weaker sections. TSA has a student strength of 106 and 48 students come from poorer backgrounds. “We intend to expand admissions to 1,000 students in future of which 250 will come from poor families. We are committed to this cause,” says trustee Asha Thomas.

TSA believes in bringing about environmental awareness at a young age. It has organised several events aligned with this philosophy. SUDHINDR A.B.
