The hero

SUNNY DEOL'S "The Hero -The Love Story Of A Spy" is perhaps the most eagerly awaited film in recent times. "The Hero", said to be more expensive and lavish (Rs. 50 crores) than "Devdas", is releasing this Friday.

The story is about Major Arjun Khanna, a RAW agent played by Sunny Deol in search of a Pakistani-based terrorist controlled by the ISI.

The film is directed by Anil Sharma of "Gaddar" fame and is said to have a patriotic theme. It will be Priyanka Chopra's debut film in Hindi where she plays the role of a Pakistani doctor brought up in Canada. Along with her is Preity Zinta who is the current flavour of the film industry.

"The Hero" has some daredevil action scenes and mind-blowing special effects. It will be the first film in India to have a record 700 prints plus 10 digital hard disc versions on an experimental basis.

The reason for producer Pravin Shah of Time Movies to go digital is to offer enhanced hi-fidelity picture, sound quality and reduce film piracy.
