The Graduates

IN RECENT years, haute couture, especially the prt lines have found an acceptable market in the twin cities. While fashion designing is a sought after career option today, catching up slowly is another creative branch - interior designing, facilitated by institutions specialising in these academic fields.

One such school Hamstech Institute of Fashion & Interior Designing recently organised the graduation ceremony, a hi-celeb fare, with Malaika and Arbaaz Khan as guests of honour, which was held last weekend at Taj Banjara.

The event found wholehearted participation from the students. They sashayed to popular numbers Chandu ke chacha, Babujee zara and Madhuban mein. They also took care of choreography and costume designing for the same. Topping the cultural show was a skit, a spoof on fashion designers and socialites dos, with an inbuilt fashion show sequence choreographed by designer Zubin Vakil. Again, the students designed the ensemble comprising contemporary chic western silhouettes replete with accessories and embellishments.

Students were awarded certificates and prizes for excellence in various categories. Also, an exhibition of students' portfolios was held as part of the occasion. The event was co-sponsored by Stanza.
