EXHIBITION Of photographs along with poems

The Alliance Française Of Madras (AFM) presents One City, One Place, One Person , an art exhibition of poet Anupama Raju and French photographer Pascal Bernard. One City is represented by Puducherry, the city that preserves the traces of its French past; One Place that’s a blend of many — such as French architecture laced with Tamil heritage, the seafront...; and One Person — a woman or a man whose physical, intellectual, artistic or political presence ensures that the city lives on.

The exhibition consists of a series of photographs and poems, ‘portraits’ of personalities who have participated in the life of their city in some way of the other. The project was undertaken during a common residency, an artistic exchange between Anupama Raju’s words and Pascal Bernard’s photographic vision. The exhibition features 27 sheets of three Polaroid pictures each. It is on till September 9 at AFM. For details, visit No. 24, College Road, Numgambakkam or call 2827-9803.
