The pupils of the N.T. College (School), Akkayyapalem, were in high spirits on Saturday. A three-day science exhibition got off to a colourful start on their school premises on that day. The model of a `magic' water tap, which opens automatically when a glass is kept below it and closes when the glass is removed, was the main attraction to the visitors.

The other models like a hydro-power generation plant, a magic lamp which glows when a person claps, Newton's disk and charts depicting different aspects of science were displayed at the exhibition.

The school principal, B.S. Murthy, said that the entire material required for making the models was provided to the students free of cost. He said the exhibition was organised in memory of the late astronaut scientist, Kalpana Chawla, to inspire the students to emulate her.

The Police Commissioner, B. Prasad Rao formally inaugurated the exhibition.
