My kinda place Gopika

ALLEPPEY

WHY I LIKE IT

Most of my scenes in the film "Autograph" were shot at my favourite holiday destination — Alleppey. I was extremely delighted to be working at this beautiful place called Kumarakom, where I usually go to relax with family. I think that reflected in my performance for which I got rave reviews. The lush landscape dotted with streams and coconut trees is a treat to your stressed out eyes. The tranquillity relaxes your body and soul.

HOW DO I SPEND TIME

Though I have been coming here since childhood, I have still not got over the joy of going on boat rides here. My parents, younger sister and grandmother always accompany me, which makes it a perfect family picnic. We stay in a boathouse to get a good view of the backwaters. We always look forward to this short break as it gives the family an opportunity to sit together, enjoy and discuss things. No tension of work, no temptation to shop and we are far from the hustle-bustle of urban life. With most of my time spent these days in hot and dusty studios, I'm forever thinking of escaping to Kumarakom.

FOOD

The karimeen served in the boathouse is the yummiest I have ever tasted. That's the first thing I do when I go there — order a plate of karimeen.

NO OTHER FAVOURITES

Believe it or not, I have no desire to visit any other place. For me, Kerala is the place to live in and is also an exotic holiday destination.
