Mockery of human life

TELEVISION PROGRAMMES definitely require a certain amount of censorship, as television reaches a wider audience with minimal restriction. Though violence and sex top the agenda as for the issues requiring censorship, it is the news agencies which really require discretion in their live programmes. In a bid to create sensationalism and increase viewership, the news agencies are making a mockery of human life and, in the bargain, glorifying terrorism. Do these incidents shock people who have perpetuated these very crimes? Live coverages are given importance only for shock value, which, sadly, sell like hot cakes!! Why can't news agencies show live coverages of a terrorist being sentenced to life, which would at least serve the purpose of teaching their lot a lesson!
