How can one make tomato puree at home?

BOIL TOMATOES and remove the skin. Cut them, remove the seeds and chop them . Saut� chopped onions in oil and add a paste of ginger and garlic (optional). Add the chopped tomatoes. Strain the seeds and the juice through a sieve and add it to the tomatoes. Cook them on a slow fire for 35 to 40 minutes. Add more water to the tomatoes if required and then reduce it so as to get a smooth paste with the desired consistency. Please note that you do not add any salt or pepper to it as that would reduce the shelf of the puree.
