Go adventurous with dosas

An exciting variety to savour from.  

DOSAS, AN all-time favourite with foodies, are once again being dished out in an unbelievable variety at the ongoing Dosa Festival at Hotel Avenue Center. Here, a lot is being tried and tested with the batter. From Chettinad chicken dosas, Malabari dosa, two-in-one dosas to chemmeen dosas, to name a few, the flat pancake is being served in wonderfully new ways. And creating these lip-smacking fare is the corporate chef of Hotplate Restaurant, Rajsekhar and his able team who have given full expression to their imagination and creativity.

The Chettinad chicken dosa is one of the popular ones according to the chef. Besides, a variety of chutneys and sambhar accompanies the dosas to make the fast food into a complete meal.

The rava and wheat dosas are for the health freaks, explains the chef. The `khatta meetta chatni' or the sweet and sour chutney made of jaggery and tamarind is sure to hold your taste buds to ransom. More helpings you bet!

The `two-in-one' dosa, true to its name, is filled with eggs and keema, wrapped together in a crispy creation, the two tastes complimenting each other. The Malabari dosas with prawn filing is a great experience for seafood lovers. Mind you it's spicy.

A totally new entrant in the menu, tells Mr. Rajsekhar, is the chettinadu dosa. It's boneless chicken saut�ed in a creamy masala of onions and spices and spread on paper-thin dosas. "The good old `thattu dosas' never loses its charm," reveals the chef and so the thattu dosa finds a place among others as one of the most made popular ones. So go ahead and try out the variety at the Dosa Festival that is on in the evenings till March 13. Burp!
