Penguin Books is celebrating its 70th anniversary with Pocket Penguins, a series of 70 books that are priced at Rs. 55 each.

The titles have been chosen from published Penguin books right from 1935. They feature the works of traditional favourites like Homer, Flaubert, Wells, Nabokov, Orwell, Camus, Roald Dahl, Borges, Galbraith, Wodehouse, as also a selection of contemporary writers like Nick Hornby, Hari Kunzru, Jonathan Coe and Zadie Smith.

The covers have been designed specially and the series is also available as a box set.

Two other books Penguin Special, a biography of Allen Lane, by Jeremy Lewis, and Penguin by Design, a history of Penguin's cover art over the years by Phil Baines, are also being released.
