Dragon days

THE CHINESE will celebrate their New Year on February 1. So many restaurants and hotels are gearing up to match their cuisine with the celebrations. There is a seafood festival at Beijing Blues (Ph: 2811 0240/43) from February 1 to 11, and a well known chef, Bhart Dhamala is being specially flown from Kolkata to rekindle the taste buds with an array of exotic sea foods like lobsters to squids. The special spread out will apparently include noodles too.

At the Oriental Pearl (GRT Grand Days, 120, Thyagaraja Road, Pondy Bazaar) there will be a two-week long Spring Festival (January 30 to February 9). Red banners, fire crackers, drums, lion dances and traditional Chinese delicacies will mark the occasion. The feast for the taste buds is for both lunch and dinner.
