DOORDARSHAN HAS added one more production to its already popular compilation of shows that comes packed with daily serials like Siri and Sitaramapuram Agraharam. The telecast of popular novelist Vasireddy Sita Devi's Bommarillu began this week and it has been slotted on prime time at 7.30 p.m. Directed by P. Sambasiva Rao, the new serial has Narasimha Raju, Hemsunder, Kakinada Rajababu, Chinni Krishna, Krishna Teja, Meghanarami, Anju Asrani and others in the cast.

Hits purple patch

A COUPLE of years into the telly business, things are finally going Sasidhar's way. Having overcome the initial days of struggle, the young artiste seems to have found a firm foothold in the industry. He young artist who picked his first lessons in acting from Vizag Prasad and Mishro. Sasidhar, who made initial forays with Kalasina Manasu for ETV and Mouna Ragam for Gemini, has a packed schedule these days portraying to portray a wide variety of roles.

"The early days were tough and testing but I was determined to stay back and fight. It was perseverance that landed good roles and got me noticed," he says. Sasidhar is playing a meaty role in Pelli Cheskundam, the daily serial on ETV. He is also shooting for Pelli and Jeevitham for the channel. The serials that the youngster is doing for other channels include Evaru for Gemini, Gharshana for Vissa and Sixth Sense for Alpha Telugu. His The experience on picked from stage has come handy for the lanky artist who is now planning to make slow but and steady moves for a place on the big screen. "I don't believe in positioning. A talented actor can breathe life into characters of all sorts, whether they are positive or negative," he says.
