Cooking cookies

COOKIES ARE eats which can be had at any time. Have them with tea or coffee or just pop one when you are hungry. They are easy to make too. Anything which is home-made has special appeal and more so when it is something like cakes, biscuits and sweets. Have some fun while baking these cookies.

Coconut crisp cookies

Ingredients:

Brown sugar - 200 gms Shortening - 100 gms Eggs - 2 eggs Baking powder - 1 tsp Baking soda - 1/2 tsp Flour - 200 gms Oatmeal - 100 gms Coconut - 100 gms

Method: Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Then add the other ingredients. Roll the mixture into small balls, press down with fork. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes.

Mom's raisin cookies

Ingredients:

Brown sugar - 100 gms Egg - 1 Sour milk - 100 ml Baking powder - 1 tbsp Butter - 200 gms Baking soda - 1/2 tsp Raisins - 100 gms Flour - 300 gms Nutmeg - 1/4 tsp Ginger - 1/4 tsp Cinnamon - 1/4 tsp Vanilla - 1 tsp

Method: Cream sugar butter. Add eggs, add flour, raisins, then the spices. Mix baking powder with flour. Mix well. Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes.

Magic way cookies

Ingredients:

Milk - 300 ml Peanut butter - 80 gms Raisins - 60 gms Corn flakes - 60 gms Shredded coconut - 80 gms Bran flakes - 60 gms Nuts - 50 gms Dates - 60 gms

Method: Mix together milk and peanut butter. Add the ingredients and mix well. Drop on a greased sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 12 minutes.

Grandmother's oatmeal cookies Flour - 300 gms Oatmeal - 200 gms Shortening - 50 gms Brown sugar -100 gms Baking soda -1 tsp Baking powder - 1 tsp Salt -1/2 tsp

Method: Mix as for pastry. Add enough sour cream to roll out. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Ginger cookies

Margarine - 200 gms White sugar - 150 gms Egg -1 Molasses - 75 gms Flour - 400 gms Ginger - 100 gms Cinnamon - 1 tsp Salt - 1/4 tsp Baking powder - 1 large tsp

Method: Combine all the ingredients. Roll into small balls. Then roll in some white sugar. Do not press or flatten. Bake in moderate oven till done.
