With his unique brand of music that was simple, clear, free flowing, T. K. Pukazhenthi left a indelible imprint on Malayalam film music. Right from his debut in the film `Muthalali' Pukazhenthi forged a very creative bond with P. Bhaskaran. This team produced some immortal melodies and 17 of them have found a place in this album. Only one song in this album, `Sundara ravil... ' one of S. Janaki's best in the language is from Sreekumaran Thampi. Included in this are songs like `Mambazhakootathil... ' (Bhagya Mudra), Aparasundara neelakasham... (Vithukal), `Lokam muzhuvan... ' (Snehadeepame Mizhithurakku), `Gopurakili... ' (Vilakuranja Manshuyar), `Vinnil irunnurangunna... ' (Moonu Pookal), `Panineeru thoovunna... ' (Muthalali) and many other songs including some of his eternally green songs like `Gopuramukallil... ' and `Maranadevan oru... ' This album is truly a tribute to Pukazhenthi, his simple, melodious brand of music.

One voice that still stands out in the genre of devotional music it is that of P. Leela. There is certainly something magical, something divine in her rendering. This is a digitally mastered version of Leela's chanting of Mookambika Suprabhatham. The lyrics are traditional and the music, very minimal, is by M. Ranga Rao. The whole of one side of the album is devoted to this. The second side has some light, devotionals by P. S. Nambisan and set to tune by G. S. Sreekrishnan. There is also a different, but impressive rendering of `Sarva Mangala Mangalye... '

Though there is a clear change in singer's voice, that has turned a bit rusty through age, what stands out is Leela's passion, devotion and involvement in the renderings.
