SILAMBARASAN IS going for a complete image change in his new film titled "Alai" being produced by the famous Telugu production house Padmalaya under the banner `Damini Enterprise'. Vikram, a former assistant of Priyadarshan, is directing the film, and Trisha is his heroine this time.

According to Simbu: "After my first two films, there is a lot of talk that I am doing low brow mass movies. I don't want to be typecast anymore." Another attraction is Vivek's comedy. Added to this, music director Vidyasagar has promised to introduce a bit of pop-mixture that appeals to the new breed of FM radio listeners. When asked why he copies Rajnikanth's style and mannerisms, Simbu says: "Rajni sir is a legend. I have grown up seeing his films and he is my role model. But in "Alai", I am trying my best to create a new image which will appeal to all kinds of audience."
