Winners all The line-up  

T hey believed in their common passion for writing, despite coming from different professional backgrounds and took up the challenge presented by Unisun Publications to participate in the 2009-2010 Writing Competition. And they won!

Winners of the Unisun Publication, in association with Reliance Time Out, Writing Competition 2009-2010 were recently felicitated in the city.

The winners were selected under three categories: children's fiction, short story and poetry. In the short stories category, Geralyn Pinto won the first prize for “Two is Company”, Java Ojha won the second prize for “Bean-Monied” and Shweta Prakash won the third prize for “Rakshasas”.

Nabina Das won the first prize in the poetry category for “Redness”. Sandeep Dilip Shete came second for “The Balcony” and Shalim M. Hussain was awarded the third prize for “Nana's New Clothes”.

In the Children's Fiction category, Smita Chakravorty and Meera Guthi shared the first prize for “Maya finds her own magic” and “The curious case of the lost and found smile”, respectively. The third prize went to Santhini Govindan for “The Clever Cure”. Ammu Nalapat, Amante Egare, Mathew P. Joseph, Bharat Shekhar, Preetha Rajah Kannan and Radhika D. Shyam were acknowledged for their works.

The programme was followed by a reading of extracts from the prize winning works. The range of stories enthralled the audience. “Timescapes”, “Two is Company” and “The lost and found smile” were also launched
