Koothu-p-Pattarai presents “Arjunan Thabasu” from July 23 to 26

Koothu-p-Pattarai presents its new play “Arjunan Thabasu”, written and directed by N. Muthuswamy, artistic director of Koothu-p-Pattarai.

The play will be staged at Kooth-p-Pattarai between July 23 and 26 at 7 p.m.

The story is derived from the ritualistic Koothu interpretation of the Mahabharatha, where Arjuna begins a rigorous journey to meet Lord Shiva and obtain The Paasupathaasthra from him.

In Muthuswamy’s interpretation, Ekalaiva’s disciples make a counterplea that Arjuna should not be granted the weapon, as it is deadly and capable of destroying the world. The disciples even suggest that the Pandavas could make use of “Women’s Scent”, a peaceful alternative, to win the war. Does Lord Shiva oblige?

Donor passes are priced at Rs. 50. Student can buy tickets at Rs. 25.

The venue is No.1, Vaikasi Street, Chinmaya Nagar, Stage-2, Virugambakkam. For details, contact 65373633 or 99414-46543, visit
