TV Harsha Bhogle explores the country in Discovery Channel's new show

Discovery Channel brings a new avatar of popular cricket presenter Harsha Bhogle, as he travels across the Indian sub-continent.

A self-confessed city person, Harsha travels rough, exploring every conceivable contrast in the country's landscape and lifestyle in Discovery Channel's series “Travel India With Harsha Bhogle”.

The six-part series premiered last week (Monday, 8 p.m., repeat Tuesday 2 p.m.)

Rather than providing a typical sightseeing experience in a popular destination, Harsha discovers local charm and reveals fascinating places that are off the beaten path.

Whether it's paying homage at spiritual sites such as the Golden Temple in Amristar, Bodhgaya in Bihar or the Rat Temple in Rajasthan, or taking an adventure trip in Sunderbans, or visiting lush vineyards in Nashik, each episode offers viewers a unique perspective to a destination.

During the course of his travel, Harsha will take viewers on an engaging journey through Punjab, Kashmir, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra. The journey ends in Nasik.

On April 5, the series focusses on Punjab and Kashmir.
