Get better with yoga



New programmes from next month

Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram offers a variety of programmes in the following months. ‘From Practice to Philosophy' is a three-month introductory programme to yoga that begins on April 5.

The programme includes practising asana and pranayama, orientation on Indian culture, and introduction to yoga philosophy from Patanjali's yoga sutra. The classes will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Monday. The last date for registration is March 31.

The ‘Yoga Teacher Training Programme' is for two years, with four semesters and commences in July. In addition to theory and practise of asana, pranayama and course planning, the course will include basic anatomy, physiology, ayurveda, Indian culture and a detailed study of the yoga sutra of Patanajali. Application forms and prospectus can be obtained for Rs. 200 by the first week of April. Classes are scheduled to start by the first week of July.

‘Sanskriti' is an orientation programme for non-resident Indians. The two-week programme, comprises two groups — adults and children. Adults will have five sessions between 7.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m., while children will have two sessions every day from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. It will be held from June 21 to July 2.
