Luxury cars set up exclusive showrooms to attract new buyers

The Worli area in mid-town Mumbai is fast becoming the epicenter for luxury car marques. Audi recently opened its swank 6,000 square foot showroom which is located on Dr. Annie Besant Road, the main thoroughfare for the city’s North-South traffic and is a brilliant location.

Shreyans has on display the entire Audi line-up and the company couldn’t have asked for a better way to showcase its brand. On display will be all six cars in Audi’s current model range; the A4, A6, A8, Q7, TT and the R8 supercar. Audi’s latest showroom brings the companies’ count of dealerships in India up to 12.

According to Audi India’s MD, Benoit Tiers, this is the latest step in the company’s sustained plan to build the Audi brand in India. Audi India’s 2009 plans include the rollout of 1,000 units of the A6 and the A4 from its Aurangabad plant.

Audi is also preparing to launch the Q5 in India this year in order to attract a new segment of car buyers. Audi announced that its A6 will come with zero per cent interest and have its warranty period extended from two years to four. The A6, along with all other Audi models, will receive roadside assistance all across India.

However, Audi will soon have Jaguar-Land Rover as a neighbour. According to company sources, both the Tata-owned British marques will have a common showroom on the ground floor of Ceejay House, one of the best buildings on Dr. Annie Besant Road and a stone’s throw away from the Audi showroom. Rolls Royce already has a showroom across the road in the Atria Mall.

Worli will also be home to Infinity Motors, the BMW dealership for South Mumbai. Located opposite the Nehru Platenarium, BMW won’t enjoy the same main road access as its rivals but the display of its cars on the first floor of the showroom will make it look unique.

What’s more, Mercedes, Skoda and Porsche dealerships are located within a few km of Worli area.
