Sushmita Sen opens the doors for Miss Universe aspirants

Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen will now provide a platform to Miss Universe India aspirants in India through her new brand “I am She”.

The Miss Universe India will represent India at the global Miss Universe competition. Conceptualised by Sen herself, “I am she”, is the official preliminary to the 2010 Miss Universe pageant.

While the competition will be conducted under the guidelines of the Miss Universe Organization, the soul and feel of the competition will remain inherently Indian.

Notably, Sen's Tantra Entertainment Private Limited was awarded the India franchise in November 2009 by the Miss Universe Organization, which conducts the pageant across 95 countries of the world every year through its global franchisees.

Of the applicants, 60 will be shortlisted to appear for personal interviews.

Out of these, 30 finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges. Contests are being organised in Kolkata and Chandigarh prior to the finale in Udaipur.

Following the nationwide call for applications the short-listed 30 will be groomed over three weeks, and then at the finale, the winners, comprising Miss Universe India-2010 and four runners-up, will be declared.

Interestingly, there is no language bar, meaning the candidates need not be fluent in English.

There is an application fee of Rs.500, which should be sent in the form of a demand draft favouring I am Foundation, payable at Mumbai, to Tantra Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., Palatial Building, Second Floor, 21st Road, Bandra (W), Mumbai – 400050, so as to reach within a period of four days from the submission of the application form.
