Revisit the works of K. Madhavan, as Dakshinachitra pays a tribute to the great artist

Dakshinachitra is hosting a retrospective of the works of K. Madhavan, one of the stalwarts of classic and oriental Indian art, from March 20 to 31 (except Tuesdays) at their art gallery.

There will be his original works as well as prints on display. It will be inaugurated by actor and artist Sivakumar at 11 a.m. on March 20, while artist Trotsky Marudu will be a special guest at the event.

Madhavan was famous for his depictions of historic heroes and classical heroines, as well as paintings of gods that took on a cult status through the litho presses of Sivakasi. He also created backdrops and sets for plays, screen painting various historical events, war scenes, forts, palaces and landscapes.
