Now, you can see how a destination looks before you plan your next holiday. has introduced a new section, ‘Cleartrip Videos’ ( > ) based on user-generated content. Now, the website offers 1,000 short videos and 135 destinations, all created by Cleartrip customers using their mobile cameras, handycams and digital cameras.

Capturing moments

The videos are a compilation of the entries received during the Short Travel Flicks contest organised last year.

As part of the contest, travellers from all over India captured their experience in the form of amateur videos and submitted their entries for the grand prize — an all expense paid trip to the Clermont Ferrand Short Films Festival in France.

Fascinating and interesting themes showing places, restaurants or just “must-see” locations were used when creating these videos — right from an area’s most famous paan and sandwichwallah to the mohalla tanga ride or even the local paanipuriwallah. Religious places such as the ISKCON temple and Haji Ali dargah in Mumbai have also been documented.

Viewers can voice their comments and reviews once they see a video. Checking out the videos is a simple process. Just visit >, login in your Cleartrip account, search for cities that you want information on and select the video that you want to see.

You can also upload your own videos and share your travel experience.
