Spirit of Unity performances

Sri Lalithakala Academy Foundation, Mysore, in collaboration with Karthik Fine Arts and Hamsadhwani will be presenting Kuthettur Seetharama Rao Memorial 12th annual Regional Unity Concerts tomorrow, December 24, at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, 10 a.m.-12 noon, Mysore style veena and Lohavamshi flute duet by Dr. C. A. Sridhar, an accomplished flautist from the sishya parampara of Tyagaraja, and vainika vidwan Rudrapatnam Raghavan, a versatile artiste in playing the `Saraswati Veena.'

Mandapam Prabhakara Upadyaya, a renowned Yakshagana artiste who has maintained the nuances of nritta and abhinaya, will present Yakshagana on December 25, 6.30 p.m., at the Indira Nagar Youth Hostel lawn under the aegis of Hamsadhwani.

The episode, Sri Krishnarpanamastu, based on the various characters in the life of Sri Krishna — Yasoda (vatsalyam), Rukmini (sringaram), Draupadi (bhakti) and so on will be portrayed by Upadyaya.

He will be supported by shatavadani Dr. Ganesh, who will anchor the show with his English and Tamil narrations.
