In Ponpathirkoodam village, just 13 km from Chinglepet, is the temple of Chaturbuja Rama, with two arms holding the conch and chakra and the other two with chinmudras of Abhaya and Varadha. The unique moolasthanam shows Sita and Rama together as an inseparable unit. Beside the idols of Kothandaramar and Sita Lakshmana is seen in a standing posture with Anjaneya striking a humble pose. The temple with its vimanam, Garuda mandapam and vahana mandapam was renovated 30 years ago and is in , need of immediate attention. The absence of the Utsavar of Sri Lakshmi Narayana is also felt. Sri Chathurbuja Kothandaramar Kainkarya Sabha Ubhaya Thiruppani Committee will perform Maha Samprokshanam on March 25, between 6 and 7.30 a.m. Contributions towards the cause may be made by DD/ cheque or as cash in the name of above committee and sent to the secretary, A.J.Sethuraman, No. 51, Thambiah Reddy Street, West Mambalam, Chennai 600033 (Ph: 24714348) or to the treasurer, P.D.Srikanth, G1, 3 Arimuthu Achari Street (Akshaya flats) Triplicane, Chennai 600005 (Cell: 98840 71075).
