Sammohanam

This week's classic Indian film is the Malayalam film ‘Sammohanam,' directed by C. P. Padmakumar with screenplay by Balakrishnan Mangad. It narrates the tale of Pennu, a femme fatale. She is in search of her missing uncle.

Ummini, a trader who travels to the city and back providing a link for the village to the outer world, soon links up with Pennu, but the turmoil she causes among the local men results in Chindan, a sugar mill operator, mistakenly knifing Ambu, a Dalit.

Murali and Kukku Parameshwaram star in the lead. Repeat of the film is on Sunday at 9.30 a.m.
