The annual Karthigai Brahmotsvam at Sri Arunachaleswara Temple in Tiruvannamalai is being conducted in December. Dwarjarohanam will be on December 4 and the Karthigai Deepam festival falls on December 13. Bharani Deepam will be lit at 4 a.m. and the Maha Deepam at 6 p.m . Sri Maha Ganapathi Temple, Chrompet, is being renovated. The construction cost is estimated at Rs. 18.50 lakhs. Kumbhabishekam will be performed between January and February 2006. Sarvani Sangeetha Sabha is presenting a jugalbandi programme by Pt. Janardhan Mitta on the sitar and U. P. Raju on the mandolin on December 3 at Music Academy Mini Hall at 6.30 p.m. The concert is not ticketed. For details, contact: 2815 1417.

In connection with the 58th Remembrance Day of carnatic music composer Kallidaikurichi E. S.
