Saahiti, a forum for the exploration of the ethos and the idiom of Telugu and Sanskrit literature and music, has been conducting bimonthly programmes since June 2005. On March 17, it is conducting Rama Nama Makarandam as evinced in the lyrics through the centuries. Vedavati Prabhakar Rao will be the lead artist of the programme for the evening. Songs of Thyagaraja will be sung by P. Suryanarayana.The Department of Culture is hosting Pancha Vipanchi, a veena recital, by Pavana, Veena Lakshmi, Surekha, Usha Kamala and Snigdha. The performance is at Ravindra Bharati on March 17 at 6.30 p.m.
