Music Recitals

NUTSHELL

Shanno Khurana, senior artiste from Delhi, presented a Hindustani classical vocal recital early this week at the IIC. Anita Singhvi presented an evening of ghazals, in support of the girl child, at the Habitat this past Tuesday, while Sudip Roy, disciple of Pt. Debu Choudhuri, presented a sitar recital, also at the Habitat Centre.

Dance Performance

As part of celebrations marking 50 years of Lady Shri Rama, its alumna Geeta Chandran (dancer) and Anuroopa Roy (Puppeteer) presented "Her Voices", a unique collaborative performance at the Habitat.

Art Exhibitions

The art exhibitions that were on view recently included Dalip Chandolia's "Serenity 2005" at Curved Gallery, Prem Singh's paintings and drawings at Shanta Art Gallery, exhibition of paintings, drawings and sculptures by eminent Indian and Russian artists at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Kalighat paintings and Madan Lal's paintings at the Triveni, Manab Banerjee's paintings and drawings presented by Gallery Today, recent drawings, watercolours and photographs by Akbar Padamsee presented by Alliance Francaise de Delhi and exhibition of photo paintings by M. Anand Swaroop at Indraprastha Art Gallery. Besides, Daffodils Assence in Art presented a show of four artists - Santosh Verma, Surjit Akre, Saranjit singh and Dhananjay - at The Grand.

Foreign Films

Alliance Francaise de Delhi presented the French film La comedie de l'innocence (The Comedy of Innocence) this past Friday.
