FILMMAKER LOHITADAS who enters the Tamil arena with "Kasturi Maan" has an impressive success record in Malayalam cinema.

Out of the 56 films he's written the story and dialogue for, 50 have been hits, you hear.

His oeuvre includes famous projects such as "Chitram" and "Kreedam." And of the 10 films he has directed, six have been hits. Mammootty and Mohanlal have won national awards for enacting roles created by Lohitadas.

The Malayalam version of Lohitadas's "Kasturi Maan" that went by the same name, saw a 100-day run in Kerala. Meera Jasmine and Boban Kunjacko played the lead — in Tamil Prasanna replaces Boban. Meera bagged many awards for her role in the film.

Industry folks know that if Ilaiyaraja composes the songs of a film in one sitting, it means that he is very impressed with the storyline.

Lohitadas is happy that the maestro finished the compositions in one go, for "Kasturi Maan."

Kichas is the cinematographer of the film and the unit has just returned after completing a 15-day shooting schedule in Coimbatore.
