Homage to a great Bhagavathar



`Kala Prapoorna' Ammula Viswanadham Bhagavathar was one of the great Harikatha exponents. He rendered Kadha Kalakshepams all over the country and received many awards and titles from prestigious institutions and the public. When he died in 1991, he was the principal of Sarvaraya Harikadha Pathasala in Kapileswarapuram, East Godavari district.A meeting, recalling Viswanadham Bhagavathar's dedication to Harikatha was held recently. The meeting was preceded by a superb `Harikadha Kalakshepam' by Tanuku Viswanadham Bhagavatar. With his fine musical depth and resounding voice Bhagavathar kept the audience sit till the final minute. The subject was Gajendra Moksham.In the meeting that followed Tanuku Viswanadham Bhagavathar was fittingly felicitated by the family members and admirers of late Ammula. The meeting presided over by senior musician and retired staff member of Vijayawada Akashvani, Malladi Suri Babu. Chief guest Mallapragada Suryanarayana Sarma and renowned scholar Dr.Mulukutla Bramhananda Sastri praised the service rendered by Ammula Viswanadham Bhagavathar to the field of Harikatha.P. SURYA RAO
