Barbie in fairyland

LOOKS LIKE good ole' Barbie is getting more versatile as the years go by. The popular ``Barbie Girl'' by Aqua cut across age and gender barriers and had almost every one humming ``... Common Barbie, lets go party'' for about a couple of months in the late 1990s. And now, Cartoon Network has come up with an alluring theme to entice all cartoon, let alone Barbie, fans.

The channel will air `Barbie as Rapunzel' on November 2 at 7 p.m. The glamorous doll is now set to make her debut on the small screen in an animation film as the gorgeous Rapunzel. The film is themed around the fairy tale - Rapunzel, a beautiful princess, who was kidnapped by the scheming witch Gothel and kept locked up by her in a tower guarded by a dragon.

The movie is about how Rapunzel discovers a magic paintbrush that changes her life forever, leading her to meet the handsome Prince Stefan, played by Ken. Other fascinating characters in the film are Barbie's friends, Penelope, the loveable dragon, and Hobie, a good-hearted rabbit. The film promises to recreate every child's imagination and relive their fantasies with Barbie.
