Fusion delight

Renowned Bharatanatyam dancer Rajeswari Sainath along with seven of her senior disciples enthralled the packed audience recently on the occasion of SBH Founder’s Day celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi. It was a combination of traditional Bharatanatyam with a fusion touch. Rajeswari presented four numbers. The first one, the Dance Of Shiva, described the cosmic energy, the five elements and the rhythm revolving around the universe. The next piece was classical fusion segment led by the oung dancer Vyshnavie daughter of Rajeswari Sainath. The third piece was a contemporary fusion which described about the element water and its forms namely the rain. The fast rhythmic beats were well co-ordinated. The concluding piece was Asathoma Sadgamaya which was a prayer for world piece and unity.

Dancer’s debut

Eshita Jayaswal who’s trained for five years under Bharatanatyam guru Hemamalini Arni, will be presenting her Arangetram today at Ravindra Bharathi. Besides dancing, Eshita also loves to sing and plays the drums, flute and piano.

Student of Oakridge International School, Eshita, is also a black belt in Tae Kwon-Do. Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia will be the chief guest for the evening. The performance will be followed by a discussion on the future of Bharatnatyam.
