In news

Actor Suman Ranganath is in the news for all wrong reasons. This was until she got a big break in her second innings in the Kannada film industry. Her presence in Puneet Rajkumar-starrer “Bindaas” was noticed, but the huge success of “Buddhivantha” which has made her get many more offers in the Kannada film industry. The “Chithranna Chithranna” song in which Suman danced steps with Upendra has now became a big hit. The Telugu version of “Buddhivantha” is also releasing shortly in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. Suman had acted in a few Telugu films in her earlier stint, when she migrated to Telugu and Tamil film industries after having worked in Kannada films.

Suman has already worked in two films “Mast Majaa Maadi” and “Anjadiru” in which she has performed item numbers. The “Mast Majaa Maadi” song has been shot in Ramoji Film City in which she has danced with Upendra.

New project

If there is one actor in the Kannada film industry whose professional demand has not been affected by success or failures of his films, it is certainly Hatrick hero Shivaraj Kumar.

A few of his films which released this year might have bitten the dust, but the actor has been continuously taking up new projects.

The line of producers waiting outside his Nagavara house has not thinned so far. Recently, Shivanna’s new film “Bhagyada Balegaara” was launched with much fanfare.

“It is not a story that can be bracketed as old and non-contemporary.

The film’s story has some fresh thoughts and I am sure the film as a whole will appeal to today’s younger audience,” he adds.

Who’s the heroine?

Actress Priyamani was to act with Shivaraj Kumar in “Bhagyada Balegaara”, but the multi-lingual actress seems to be very busy now working in a Manirathnam film and the Telugu film, “Drona”. Though hailing from Bangalore, the dusky actress has not yet signed any Kannada film. Rumour mills say that Kamalini Mukherjee may act with Shivaraj Kumar in “Bhagyada Balegaara”. Kamalini has already worked in another Kannada film which is being produced by Ramoji Rao. This film is a remake of Telugu hit, “Gamyam”.
