Department of Culture and Kinnera Art Theatre is holding month-long celebrations.

After the Central Government conferring ‘Classical Language’ status to Telugu , the mood is upbeat and this could be seen in the eagerness of the Department of Culture and Kinnera Art Theatre holding month-long celebrations ‘Bhasha Mahotsavalu’ at Thyagaraya Ganasabha.

The festival was inaugurated by Daggubati Purandareswari, Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development. Purandareswari was happy that the language has been finally recognised. Minister Mandali Buddha Prasad lauded the efforts in having this festival as this would inspire all the Telugu people.

The Tamil Nadu Government had already made the Telugu language as third language to be taught there R.Prabharakara Rao, former DGP and President of Kinnera Art theatres and Telugu scholar Garikapati Narsimha Rao also spoke.

Later the disciples of Usha Gayatri presented a welcome song Maa Telugu Talliki Malle Poodanda in dance format.

This was followed by Garikapati Narasimha Rao’s Ashtavadhanam show.
