Women have become trendsetters

Here are the responses from readers on whether education has empowered women.

Excel in lifeEDUCATION PLAYS a vital role in women's life. The concessions offered by the Tamil Nadu Government to a girl child help them to excel in life. But yet the present education system should change.Remembering skills are necessary but, analytical and logical skills should also given much importance. Jayapriya. A KCE Developed nationIN ANCIENT days women are treated as cook. They are not allowed to study basic education. But now they are given good chance in the field of education and they are also utilising it properly. Educating women will make our nation as developed nation. N. Bala Badrinath, Dr. Mahalingam College of Engg & Tech, Pollachi. Secured lifeYES, EDUCATION has largely empowered women. It has brought to light all their academic capacities and leadership qualities that were hidden in them as unused resources due to their prohibition from getting education in the past.Education has also made women very bold. Through education they get good job and good salary, and hence, a secured life too. They need not rely on others money. Karthik S. III B.Sc Biochemistry TrendsettersTODAY WOMEN have become trendsetters in almost all fields and carving a niche for themselves. They are treated with great respect by society. But this scene is prevalent only in the urban areas and metropolitan cities. There are a number of villages where women belonging to the backward communities are still ill-treated. Though the government has issued orders that primary education for all girls must be provided, there are places where these orders are not being implemented. Steps must be taken by the government to ensure educational facilities in every nook and corner of the country. Only empowered citizens can strive to build an empowered India. For this status of women needs more improvisation. Only education can provide women security, as they can lead independent lives with self-respect. B. Mythili, III B. Tech (Information Technology), Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College. Pinnacle of gloryGIRLS ARE at present toppers in examinations. (Mechanical) CIT Weapon of conquestINDIAN WOMEN have come to their own because of education. The modern girl is no longer shy, meek, submissive and homely creature as she used to be. Women are now marching shoulder to shoulder with their menfolk. She is a paragon of all virtues. She possesses everybody. She is not possessed by anybody. Education has become her greatest weapon of conquest. Hats off to today's women.S. Saradha, I B.Sc. CT, PSG College of Technology
