IBS student bags Rs. 47-lakh package

With the highest package of Rs. 47.41 lakh, recruiters are thronging the ICFAI Business School (IBS), Hyderabad, as placement season has begun this month. The students from the class of 2016 also bagged eight international placements.

The highest domestic placement was Rs. 25 lakh per annum, while the average salary was Rs. 6.79 lakh. Around 96 per cent students have gone through placement assistance, said S. Venkata Seshiah, director, IBS.

He said over 200 recruiters participated in the process, of which 65 per cent are repeat recruiters who have been visiting the campus over the years.

Mr. Seshaiah said the BFSI (banking, financial services, and insurance) sector has contributed to 36 per cent of the total placements, while IT/ITES contribution was 30 per cent, followed by consulting, media and research, manufacturing, pharma and healthcare, e-commerce, and infra and telecom.

A few students opted out of placements for entrepreneurial pursuits.

Some of the top companies that visited the campus for placements include TCS, Deloitte India, Cognizant, ICICI Group, HDFC bank, Genpact, Capital First, Kotak Mahindra bank,Wipro, JP Morgan India Center, Maruti Suzuki, Amazon Development Centre India, and ITC Hotels.
