For quality: A view of the Global Institute of Business Management and IT, Hubli

An institute offers virtual classrooms and much more

For an institution which is still in its infancy, it would be considered a great achievement if its students were able to get past the initial rounds in a national-level competition. Expecting such an institution to win the general championship at a national management festival would be asking for too much. However, Global Educare Foundation’s Global Institute of Business Management and IT in Hubli has done that.

The coming together of a few professionals, technocrats and successful businessmen resulted in the birth of Global Educare Foundation, which then led to the establishment of Global Institute of Business Management and IT in 2007-08.

“In a world that is changing fast, by the time a student completes his education, there are chances that the knowledge and skills that he has acquired would have become irrelevant or obsolete. It is a challenge to every institute of higher education and we have devised a system where in the students are trained to learn and adapt to the changes as and when they happen,” said Pradeep Shettar, Honorary President of the Foundation.

Integrated education, quality teaching, fully planned programmes and industry interactions are some of the features of the institute, according to Riyaz Basari, Honorary Secretary of the Foundation.

Quality help

Affiliated to Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences, Gangtok, the institute has qualified professionals who act as resource persons for management symposiums and workshops.

“Virtual classrooms” at the institute help teachers of SMU make the learning process more effective and consistent. The institute, situated in Akshay Colony, Shirur Park Extension, Hubli (Ph: 0836-2278222), also houses Global College of Computer Application and Business Administration affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad.

The two-year MBA (Industry Integrated) programme offered by the institute is application oriented.

“The objective of the institute is not only to make the students more employable but also to assist them in becoming first generation entrepreneurs”, said N.A. Charantimath, chartered accountant and Honorary Chairman of the Global Education Foundation.
