Telco launches new pick-up vehicle

CHENNAI APRIL 9. Tata Engineering today launched its new Tata 207 DI 1.13-tonne pick-up vehicle in Chennai.

Designed for urban and rural use, it is powered with the same engine as the Tata 407 and has a power steering. Its 60 HP - 3-litre engine minimises fuel consumption.

Addressing a press conference here, the General Manager (Commercial Vehicle Business Unit), Shyam Mani, said the vehicle, which was first introduced in the North East was now available in all regions, except North India, where the company would launch the vehicle next week. The Tata 207 DI was the result of intensive design, engineering and technical testing.

The ex-showroom prices in Chennai for the variants are: 207 DI single cabin power (Rs. 3.79 lakhs); 207 DI single cabin mechanical (Rs. 3.59 lakhs); 207 DI crew cabin power (Rs. 4.20 lakhs) and 207 DI crew cabin mechanical (Rs. 3.97 lakhs).

The prices are inclusive of sales tax and exclusive of insurance and registration.
