Orion to set up 100 training centres

Orion Edutech, a skill development company, is planning to set up 100 more training centres in India and to expand globally.

Started by Manish Agarwal and Sanjeev Kothari in 2007, the company has provided training to more than two lakh candidates from its 235 training centres spread across 21 states in sectors such as ITeS, healthcare, hospitality, retail, telecom, beauty and wellness, electronics and apparel.

Talking to The Hindu, Manish Agarwal, Orion Edutech Managing Director said: “Currently we have strong presence in east, north east and north. We are planning to expand more in south and west such as Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. We want to start 100 more training centres in India and enter African and pan Asian countries. We will be adapting to more technology for all our delivery mechanisms.”

According to him, the company has set a target of skilling 2 million people by the end of 2022.

Apart from providing training in the existing sectors such as hospitality, beauty & wellness, retail, IT & ITeS & telecom, it would focus on manufacturing, automotive, construction and health care sectors.

“We are also planning to skill candidates in African and Pan Asian countries, which are facing similar challenges of gap in skilled manpower. Initially we are planning to expand in at least five countries in the next three years. Malaysia, Vietnam, Middle East, Kenya, Indonesia, Turkey, Burma and Philippines are on the radar,” he said.
