New Mangalore Port's record cargo handling

MANGALORE: The New Mangalore Port has handled 23.06 million tonnes of cargo surpassing the target fixed by the Union Ministry of Shipping at 22.95 million tonnes for the financial year. A release from the Traffic Manager, S. Gopalkrishna, stated that the port achieved this one month ahead of the close of the financial year. It had crossed all the previous traffic records within ten months of the current financial year by handling 21.50 million tonnes as on February 8. It has now set its eyes on handling 25 million tonnes by the end of the current year.
