Natco Pharma's unit gets USFDA nod

HYDERABAD: Natco Pharma announced that its active pharmaceutical ingredients plant at Mekaguda in Mahbubnagar District of Andhra Pradesh has been approved by the U.S. FDA authorities. The company said in a release here on Monday that it had drawn up an expansion plan. A new production block is being constructed at Mekaguda in conformity with FDA standards, with eight modules of pharma rooms. Once completed by June 2005, the facility would be equipped with a total of 12 modern pharma rooms. Additional capacity was also being added at the formulation units at Kothur. It is also planning a dedicated anti-cancer and anti-viral block, it said.
