Canara Bank's ad hoc committee

BANGALORE: Canara Bank has constituted a `high Level ad hoc committee' at its head office, to `look into' how the bank works to improve customer service, a release said. The Reserve Bank of India Governor, Y. V. Reddy, at a recent meeting with senior bankers, had talked of the need for such committees in each bank, a Canara Bank spokesman said. The committee would study the `implementation of procedures and practices' and review the system in place for safeguarding the interest of the bank's customers. The Committee will audit procedures and performance related to the `public services' rendered by the bank, the release said.
