Bangalore: India scored an emphatic six-wicket win over South Africa in the second match of the Pepsi ODI series at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Saturday. Chasing South Africa's 169 for nine in 50 overs, India romped home in the 36th over. The host thus ended South Africa's 20-match unbeaten streak in the ODIs.

Irfan Pathan, who claimed three wickets with the new ball and made a crucial 37 at No. 3, was named the Man of the Match. Virender Sehwag, batting at No. 4, remained unbeaten with a blazing 62-ball 77.

On a pitch assisting spin, the South Africans struggled after being invited to bat by Indian skipper Rahul Dravid.

On a memorable day for the home team, Sachin Tendulkar equalled Wasim Akram's record of 356 for the most number of ODI appearances.
