Only 60 women in fray

NEW DELHI, APRIL 24. Only 60 women are in fray among the 1,278 candidates for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections for the 137 Parliamentary constituencies on April 26.

In the first phase held on April 20, 81 women candidates, out of 1,103 contestants for the 140 parliamentary seats, were in the fray. Uttar Pradesh accounts for the maximum number with 16 women candidates out of the total 421 contesting the 32 Lok Sabha seats.
