Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is likely to meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday to take up again the issue of framing guidelines by the centre to enable Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan exercise his powers under Section 8 of the AP Reorganisation Act.
The alleged tapping of phones of Mr. Naidu and other important leaders of TDP and officials of Andhra Pradesh government by Telangana government is also expected to be broached during the meeting with Mr. Singh. Besides raising these issues, he would be seeking Central assistance to tackle drought in the State.
Back from Japan
Mr. Naidu, who arrived in Delhi on Thursday evening after a four-day visit to Japan, will be meeting Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal, Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati and Union Minister for Forests and Environment Prakash Javadekar to seek early resolution of inter-State disputes relating to power and water, apart from pressing for expeditious completion of Polavaram project and taking up mining issues.
Soon after his arrival, the Chief Minister travelled by the Delhi metro to have a feel of the ride.
Earlier, the Chief Minister concluded his tour to Japan after interacting with representatives of Komamura Corporation and invited the company to explore establishing its unit in Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Toshiyuki Komamura, president of the company, said the company was interested to explore the possibilities of setting up units in Andhra Pradesh.
