Another blast in Mumbai

MUMBAI Jan. 28. Hours after the bomb blast at a vegetable market in Vile Parle on Monday evening in which 26 persons were injured, another bomb went off on the eve of the Prime Minister's visit to the metropolis.

The second bomb was also a deadly contraption of gelatin sticks and hidden in a sack of grain mounted on a bicycle. No injuries were reported after the blast. The second blast took place even as the bomb disposal squad was stacking sandbags around the cycle, before attempting to defuse the bomb. The Minister of State for Home, Rajendra Darda, and his colleague, Kripashanker Singh, had a narrow escape as the blast occurred seconds after they had a look at the cycle. The Ministers had arrived to inspect the site of the first blast.
