Kuki militants attack IRB camp

Kuki militants attacked an Indian Reserve Battalion camp during relaxation of curfew in violence-affected Moreh town in Manipur, forcing authorities to reimpose the restrictions.

The militants fired from automatic weapons and set off bombs targeting an IRB camp in the border town of Moreh in Chandel district on Tuesday evening, officials said. The IRB personnel retaliated but were ordered not to set off bombs or use other explosives. The exchange of fire lasted for more than half an hour, they said, adding there was no casualty among the security personnel.

Casualties, if any, on the militants' side was not known. PTI
